This system allows Emergency Management to provide quick and flexible information to the general public during an emergency or disaster. These messages are delivered by email, SMS text message, and voice messages over the web. By signing up, you may receive alerts for:

What if my phone number or email changes?
- The system is only as good as the information you provide. If your contact information changes, please take time to ensure you update your information in the system.
Will my contact information be shared with others?
- No. The information you provide to Nixle is solely used for emergency alerts from public safety and emergency management officials only.
I don’t have a landline; may I register a mobile phone?
- Yes, you may register a mobile number by following the register here link above or by texting ALAMANCE to 888777. This will allow you to receive SMS text messages.
Will you leave a message or voicemail if I do not answer?
- A message will be left on an answering machine or voicemail if you do not answer the phone call.
My relative/friend received an alert, but I did not, why?
- Sometimes the content of a Nixle message only needs to concern a certain population or group within Alamance County. Public Safety and Emergency Management officials can select a certain geographic area to receive alerts, rather than providing unnecessary actions or panic from communities that are not being impacted.
